TO NORTH---The Plan!!!

It was one of my dreams to visit Delhi. Even thou my dad planned Delhi trips many a time, it didnt happend due to many reasons. But this time we were determined to do it.

Now the biggest problem in front of us was "when to go?". We had many rounds of discussions, "should we go during April?, No !! because mom needs to close her DO accounts(my mom works at New India Assurance Ltd, Divisional Office, Palayam, Tvm) and my dad has his Bank audits!!". "how about September-October....?? My Dad gave an emphatic NO...because he has his tax audits". My mom already declared no tour during summer and winter.... atlast Febuary came to our rescue...my dad and mom were not busy during this time of the year. So Feb was fixed.

The next question, where all should we go??? Jst to Delhi? Or shld v go and explore Himalayas(which was opposed by my dad, bcz he has astma pblmz!!)? My mom said vatvr happens, we shld go to Agra and c Taj Mahal, to which me and my dad also agreed.

Nw my dad came vit a plan of going to Amristar and Wagah Border, vch was unanimously agreed.

Before planning and writn our itinerary, we enquired vit those who has experincd and also njyd North tours(thanks to sankar uncle(my boss) and my frnd sunanda). We gt a sketch of vat to do and hw to do frm them. Sankar uncle advised us to go for conducted tours of panicker's travels.

We searched http://panickerstravel.com/ to find out their packages.

We narrowed down to famous golden triangle tour(Delhi-Jaipur-Agra) of Panickers. The package contains stay in a luxury hotel at jaipur and travel in volvo bus, and we would b provided a guide vit us, whch v thou8 is a gud bargain!! ;). We even booked rooms for our stay in Delhi at Panicker's guest house, Karol Bagh, so that we would have access to metro and also to catch panicker's bus for the conducted tours.

Next was the booking of Amritsar Trip. We booked tickets on Shatadbi express between Delhi and Amritsar. And also booked room at Hotel City Heart http://www.hotelcityheartamritsar.com/

We booked in Indigo Airlines for our to and fro travel btw Delhi and Tvm.

There were many tour operators who provide one day Delhi tour, bt we decided nt to opt for any of them, and to do the local tour by ourself. So we were browsing abt the interestn places in Delhi, we saw an awesome thing, that was HO HO buses. So we booked in HO HO buses.

So it was like we have our whole tour sketched out!! Now the process of making the itinerary!!

The itinerary of our whole North Tour was as follows:

22/2/2011 - Departure to Delhi...by flight....mrgn 10:30 flight

Arrival by evng 4pm. Stay at Panicker's guest house.

23/2/2011 - To Amritsar via Shatabdi...departure 6am, arrival at Amritsar 2pm(yes it does tk a long tym)

Stay at Hotel City Heart. Evng to Wagah Border. Night visit of Golden Temple.

24/2/2011- Mrgn visit of Golden temple. and then to Jallainwala bagh.

Back to delhi by 4pm Shatadbi express. stay at Panicker's Guest House.

25/2/2011- Local Delhi tour in HO HO bus

26/2/2011- Visit to Sarojini market and Akshardam temple vit our relatives and over night stay at their house

27/2/2011- Visit to frnd's house and then shopping at Karol Bagh. Stay at Panicker's guest house.

28/2/2011- Golden Triangle Tour departure by 5am.

01/3/2011- Back to Delhi by 10pm. Stay at Panicker's Guest House.

02/3/2011- Last day Of Delhi local trip.

03/3/2011-back to Trivandrum By 11am flight.

Now the wait started for 22nd Feb to reach......................................................
